The Man Exploited the Woman
Dalip Singh Wasan asked:
The man exploited the woman
There had been times when there was no institution of marriage and at that stage man had been exploiting the position of this woman. He had been shifting from one woman to another woman and he was not looking after the woman when she was having a child . She had to look after the child so born and she had been all alone because there was no man who could claim that he is the father of that child. And it is on record that this man never left that course of his life and even after the establishment of this marriage institution this man had not been concentrating to one woman who had come to his house as his wife. It is on record that this man had been having keeps, more than one wives, had been having call girls, dancing girls and the ***********. It is on record that this man had been found indulging in **** and adultery. And all these systems are available even today and in spite of all his indulgence, this man is not tolerating such indulgence from the side of the woman. It is on record that this man had been killing his daughters at the time of her birth and even today he is killing girls before their actual birth. They are killing women if they do not bring adequate dowry and at times women are compelled to commit *******. Since the man had been the earning member of the family and the woman had been dependant upon him, he had been the king of the house and often she had been treated as a domestic servant. It is on record that most of the men do not like to have consultation with their wives on serious matters and even domestic affairs are kept secret from them. They are given charge of the kitchen, but still what she needs she shall have to depend upon her husband. In the Indian society, it is stated that she should be under the care of her parents when she is a child, under her husband and then under her children. she should not be allowed all alone because the men would not allow her to lead a honourable life. she is financially weak and if she starts earning, the men would not tolerate her control. They shall still demand that she should be under them. So it would take centuries for the woman to come at par with the man and all these entries of equality in the constitutions are just formal and nothing operative.
